The solution i found is installing HP Wireless Assistant, which also enables the Bluetooth function of the HP ProBook 4510s. In Windows10 under Device Manager it states the driver for the 5100 AGN. Go to Device Manager (right click on My Computer, choose Manage and then find Device Manager in the left panel) 2. In that case, OP will have to upgrade or replace the Intel wifi 5100 adapter with a newer model when upgrading to Windows 10. I know for sure Windows 8 & 8.1 had built-in (in-box) drivers for Intel WiFi 5100 & 5300 adapters though I'm not sure if Windows 10 has in-box drivers for those old wifi adapters.

Who supports my Linux* driver?
Linux drivers are part of the upstream Linux* kernel. They're available through the regular channels, distributions, or the Linux* kernel archives. We support use of the drivers only in the kernel version the driver was a part of. See the table below for a list of supported devices by the iwlwifi driver. What firmware does my wireless device require?
The wireless device requires firmware to operate. Firmware usually ships with your distribution, or you can download from the table below. Each download provides firmware under its own license.
To install firmware:
- Copy the files into the distribution-specific firmware directory, /lib/firmware.
- If the directory doesn't work, refer to your distribution documentation.
- If you configure the kernel yourself, make sure firmware loading is enabled.
